Yearly points are a separate tally that determines your tier level. They accumulate across a calendar year and reset annually. You earn yearly points the same way you earn spendable points, but they serve a completely different purpose. The practical takeaway: spending your spendable points on rewards does not drop your tier. Yearly points accumulate regardless of how many times you redeem.
What Earns Points
Every qualifying purchase in-store or through the app earns 5 spendable and 5 yearly points per dollar spent. Qualifying purchases include food, beverages, coffee, snacks, and most non-fuel merchandise.
What does not earn points: fuel purchases, alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco products, half-gallon and gallon milk, lottery tickets, carwash purchases, Sheetz gift cards, and prepaid gift cards. If you regularly pay for these at Sheetz, those transactions won’t move your balance.
When Sheetz runs 2x Points Events — and they do this regularly throughout the year — every dollar earns 10 points instead of 5. These events are the fastest way to advance through tiers, and they’re announced inside the app under the Offerz tab. Members who watch for them and time larger purchases accordingly can reach Freak tier significantly faster than those who don’t.
When Points Expire
Spendable points expire on the last day of the month, exactly one year after the month they were earned. Points earned on July 7, 2025 expire on July 31, 2026 — not on July 7, 2026. This gives you a full calendar month of buffer, which matters when you’re planning a larger redemption.
If you’re a light or irregular Sheetz customer, check your app every few weeks. It’s easy to let a batch of points age out without realizing it. The app displays your balance and expiration timeline in the account section.

This is where every new member starts, and the benefits are better than most people expect from a starting tier. The 3-cent daily fuel discount is active immediately — you don’t have to earn your way to it. You also get access to customized rewards through the app, a birthday offer during your birthday month, exclusive email and app offers, and periodic 2x Points Events.
For someone who stops at Sheetz a couple of times a week for breakfast or coffee and food, earning the 1,000 yearly points needed for Friend tier takes roughly two to three months at normal spend.
Friend (1,000 Yearly Points)
Friend tier adds surprise freebies — random rewards loaded directly to your account without any action required — along with a higher frequency of exclusive offers. The base perks from Fan tier carry forward entirely. Nothing is taken away as you advance.
Getting from 1,000 to 2,500 yearly points (Freak tier) from a $5-per-visit average takes roughly three to four more months of consistent purchasing.
Freak (2,500 Yearly Points)
Freak is the top level, and the status carries genuine bragging rights among regular Sheetz customers across Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, and North Carolina. The perks that distinguish Freak tier most clearly are exclusive Sheetz merchandise and apparel available only at this level, the highest frequency of surprise freebies, diesel savings for drivers with diesel vehicles, and EV savings for electric vehicle owners.

How to Sign Up for My Sheetz Rewardz
Signing up takes less than five minutes and costs nothing. There are two paths:
Via the Sheetz app (recommended): Download the Sheetz app for iOS or Android, open it, and tap the sign-up option. Fill in your name, email address, and create a password. Validate your email and you’re active. The app will prompt you to either use a digital rewards card linked to your account or register a physical card if you have one.
Via the Sheetz website: Go to sheetz.com/loyalty-program and click the sign-up button. The process is the same: create your account, validate your email, and optionally register a physical card.
Once your account is confirmed, your 3-cent fuel discount is live immediately. You don’t need to accumulate points first or wait for any approval. Scan your in-app barcode or physical card at the pump before you select a fuel grade.

How to Redeem My Sheetz Rewardz Points
Redemption happens through the app. Navigate to the Rewardz tab, find an item you want, and tap the Add button. That reward is now loaded to your account. At checkout, scan your app barcode or physical card and the system applies it automatically.
You cannot redeem at the kiosk itself — the kiosk is for ordering. The reward has to be pre-loaded to your account before you scan at checkout.
For fuel redemptions, you convert spendable points into cents-off-per-gallon rewards. For example, 1,000 points might convert to 50 cents off per gallon for a single fill-up. That discount stacks on top of your standard 3-cent daily discount.
